Litchi of Muzaffarpur district of Bihar is famous in the country and the world and this is the reason why Shahi Litchi is cultivated on a large scale in many areas of Vaishali district located on the border of Muzaffarpur district. Chandeshwar Pandey, resident of Katarmala village of Vaishali, has been cultivating litchi for 15 years. When Chandeshwar Pandey retired from the job of Railway Police, he was not feeling like it. Then he started the work of carrying forward the litchi gardening planted by his ancestors. From the month of February to 15th June, he is engaged in litchi gardening along with the labourers. In litchi gardening, the hard work and expenses increase according to the season. Litchi gardening requires spraying of water and medicine at an interval of one week.

Due to being engaged in this work, his earning also reaches up to Rs 5 lakh from four acres. Litchi is supplied from the local market to outside Bihar and many districts of Bihar. Chandeshwar Pandey says that there is litchi gardening in four acres which gives good income. He told that by cutting the expenses in one acre, one to 1.25 lakh rupees is saved.

Litchi is prepared under the supervision of 100 people
Chandeshwar Pandey told that litchi ripens between February and March and ripens by May 25. After which it is supplied to the surrounding districts as well as many states of the country. Chandeshwar Pandey told that Shahi Litchi is supplied in many states from North India to South India, which leads to earning of lakhs annually. At the same time, he was told that more than 100 people work in this four-acre gardening, who do everything from taking care of litchi to plucking litchi. About 50 litchi plants are planted in one acre of field. One acre farm earns more than Rs 1 lakh.
